Named Gift Opportunities

A charitable gift to support CNU in honor or memory of a friend, loved one, or favorite professor is a thoughtful and useful way to convey your esteem for the person being honored. Your gift may be designated for a specific purpose, or you may choose to have it used for the area of greatest need by the University.

All gifts to benefit CNU should be made to the Christopher Newport University Educational Foundation, Inc., a 501-c-3 organization (charity) qualified through the Internal Revenue Service.

Honor Roll of Donors

A listing of those for whom gifts have been made in their memory or honor and their donors is included in the annual Honor Roll of Donors distributed to over 15,000 friends and alumni of CNU.

Such gifts are tax-deductible, and documentation needed for tax purposes will be provided by CNU's Advancement Services manager.

Charitable Gifts Online

It is now possible to make charitable gifts in another's honor or memory online, using your credit card.

Family members of the deceased individual are informed that the gift has been made to memorialize their loved one; the person honored is informed of the thoughtfulness of a gift made in his or her honor.
