    Coach's Note

During the 2025 season, CNU softball made their record 18th straight NCAA appearance. After winning the conference again and making it to the championship game in the first round of NCAA play, the team came up just short in making it to super regionals. At the conclusion of the season the Captains finished as the number 10 ranked team.

As a National Championship softball program, Christopher Newport wants to position our Captains to achieve greater success this coming season. Playing a strong strength of schedule is critical to the overall athletic experience and helps position the team much better for postseason opportunities.

Additional funding for travel is necessary to ensure our Captains can play the most challenging schedule possible both away and home. In addition to travel, the team uses funds for apparel, additional equipment to help them perform optimally on the field through better development and technology.

We would like to enhance our development with cutting edge technology this season to help provide specific metrics that are valuable in player growth.

CNU Softball is always striving to be the very best in the nation and the team is fortunate to return a wonderful group of players from last year. Eight newcomers will also be stepping foot on campus very soon to round out a phenomenal team who have the talent to achieve another special season together.

Every gift makes a positive impact on the student-athlete experience here at Christopher Newport. Because of your support, we can ensure that Christopher Newport has the best softball experience in Division III.

    Go Captains!
