The 2024 Spring season was the most successful season in the history of our program capped off by the first ever C2C Conference Championship and NCAA tournament berth! The team also finished the season ranked #18 nationally, which is the highest ranking in program history and the eighth consecutive season finishing in the top 40 of the ITA National Team Rankings. Some other highlights from this past year included a 9-0 regular season win over Mary Washington, the first victory in program history over UMW, and a program record four wins over teams ranked in the top 25 in the country, highlighted by a thrilling 6-3 win against Haverford at the CNU Courts.
For the first time in program history, Christopher Newport had two players each qualifying for the NCAA singles championship and also qualifying together as a doubles team. The Trate/Weis duo also achieved the highest singles or doubles ranking in program history by being named the #9 doubles tandem in the country.
Every gift makes an impact in what we are able to accomplish together and allows us to provide a wonderful experience for our student-athletes. Your support helps to fund basic equipment, travel, and the work we do off the court to assist our team with mental training. Join our community of champions and help make Christopher Newport the best place in DIII to play women’s tennis.
