The Alumni Achievement Award is granted to Christopher Newport graduates for significant accomplishments in professional life or for distinguished service to their community, state or nation.
Distinguished Alumni Service Award
(1)
The Distinguished Alumni Service Award is granted to a Christopher Newport graduate for specific and commendable service to their university, community, state or nation. Alumni who graduated between 1962 and 2023 are eligible for this award.
*This award cannot be given posthumously, to an individual who is a current member of any board associated with Christopher Newport University, or who is currently an officer, faculty member or employee of Christopher Newport University.
Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award
The Distinguished Alumnus Award honors one Christopher Newport graduate who exemplifies the Christopher Newport tradition of excellence and who has brought credit to their alma mater through their personal, professional and community service. Alumni who graduated between 1962 and 2023 are eligible for this award.
*This award cannot be given to an individual who is a current member of any board associated with Christopher Newport University, or who is currently an officer, faculty member or employee of Christopher Newport University.
Distinguished Young Alumni Service Award
Honoring exceptional young alumni who are making an extraordinary impact in their communities, industries, and alma mater. These trailblazers are not only achieving remarkable success, but are also dedicated to living lives of significance through their passion, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the values of Christopher Newport University. Alumni who graduated between 2012 -2023 are eligible for this award.
This award cannot be given to an individual who is a current member of any board associated with Christopher Newport University, or who is currently an officer, faculty member or employee of Christopher Newport University.
Jane Chambers Volunteer Award (1)
The Jane Chambers Volunteer Award is granted to a non-graduate volunteer, who in the opinion of the Alumni Society has brought honor to the University and/or its alumni community through his/her acts of service.
This award comes with a stipend.
